The shoot itself was short and sweet, and so shall be the blog post.
There are two Mountain Laurels out front with tons of fragrant purple flowers. I decided I just HAD to create an image with them this year, and I wanted to include a young girl with a matching purple dress. Who does one turn to when one needs a beautiful model with a purple dress? One's stylish friend with three lovely daughters! That's who!
A few text messages, and it was set.
Set up the pop-up tent, battle the bees for a few decent branches brimming with flowers, insert friend's lovely, middle daughter, and twenty minutes later, I have my shots.
Nothing elaborate, just an idea + motivation.

Though it was meant as a little distraction from the serious work I've been doing on my series, doing this shoot had me jotting down other ideas. I loved the matchy matchiness of the flowers and the dress--so much that now I want to do more and even matchier! Clothing matching wallpaper, couches, rooms, carpets, gardens...
In fact, if you have a dress in mind and a location to match, let's get it together!
